Celebrating 18 Plus 32 Years’ Experience

Published in Milestones Written by Adejuwon Soyinka
Alero, daughter of the celebrant; Misan and Kofi Senaya, husband, cutting the birthday cake

It is perhaps the season of exits of political icons and titans in Nigeria. Within the last week, the country has had to bury two great political icons in quick succession. First to go was Lamidi Adesina, former Oyo State governor, who died on November 10, 2012 at the age of 73.   Fondly called “Great Lam” by his political associates and followers, Adesina was buried at his Felele, Ibadan, Oyo State, home on November 11 according to Islamic rites. For the late politician, efforts to bring good governance to the people of Oyo State started as far back as…

Published in Milestones Written by Administrator
Festus Fajemilo
Festus Fajemilo Foundation marked its 5th anniversary with a seminar on November 8. The foundation, which was established in 2007, caters for children suffering from hydrocephalus and spina bifida. According to Afolabi Fajemilo, the idea behind the foundation was spurred by the difficulties their son, Festus, who is suffering from the condition known as hydrocephalus, faced while growing up. “We established the foundation in order to raise awareness about hydrocephalus and spina bifida, and to help affected children get prompt treatment while channelling our efforts to prevent an increase in birth of children having these conditions,” he said. Despite the…
