Yeka Onka is Nigerian Idol

Yeka Onka was named winner of the music reality show Nigerian Idol on Sunday March 27. It was dream come true for the lady who was denied twice during auditions but finally got the judges to take her into the show on her third attempt. It is a heart warming story of determination and commitment to one's dream, to say the least.

“I am really excited for this, it took me a while to get to this point, I was rejected in Enugu and Abuja, before I came down to Lagos and then I got the golden ticket. I loved the experience, all through the six months, And now here I am walking away with the grand prize,” Yeka Onka said after she was announced winner on Sunday evening at the Dream Studios in Lagos.

Naomi Mac was runner up on the night where lady of songs Christie Essien-Igbokwe performed her classic "Seun rere". Former West African Idols winner Timi Dakolo and Banky W also performed live on stage.

Goodluck Yeka. Your idol journey is a good story for Africa Magic to act.
