Making Nigeria Rock

Nigerian music lovers are about to have a feel of their artistes, courtesy Nigerian Breweries, makers of Star lager beer. This is because Star Trek, an annual music country tour that parades the best of Nigerian artistes and music stars and also touches every nook and cranny of the nation, has created a platform that affords Nigerians the opportunity of watching their award-winning stars perform live on stage.

This year, Star Trek will take top Nigerian musicians to various parts of the country so that they can have fun and the opportunity to meet with their fans. This occasion will create a rare platform for artistes to share the feelings of being real stars. Beyond this, it has also connected the very best of Nigerian superstars to their fans in all parts of the country.

In the course of this year’s Star Trek, a galaxy of stars would entertain fans in 10 cities between May and June 2012. The first port of call would be Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo State; IBB Stadium, Makurdi, Benue State; Ejigbo Mini Stadium, Lagos; Zenabab Hotels and Resort, Ilesha, Osun State; Stonefield, Benin, Edo State, June 8; Sapele Township Stadium, Sapele, Delta State; Marble Arch Hotel, Awka, Anambra State; Abakaliki Township Stadium, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State; Uyo Township Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State; and Cultural Centre Complex, Calabar, Cross River State.

Star Trek 2012  is going to parade the best of musical performances from the likes of Tuface Idibia, D’Banj, MI, 9ice, Obesere, Wande Coal, Wiz Kid, Flavour, Sound Sultan, Tiwa Savage, J Martins, Naeto C, Ice Prince, Omawumi, Yinka Best, Mr Raw, Waje, KC, as well as Presh.

Also on the bill are Star Quest 2012 winning band, Crystals. Star Trek parades the Diamondz, Juke Box and D BEAT respectively, all past winners of Star Quest. Edem Vinda, spokesperson of the company, said Star Trek promises to be an epitome of fun and excitement as Star takes music entertainment to a good height. The theme for this year’s edition, “Nigeria Rocks” and “My City Rocks,” aptly describes what is to come.
